This is an amazing form of quilting! lt appears that you've used fabric painting to add realism, then used raw edge applique. Is this shading what you took in the Craftsy class?

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Beautiful shading on the flower itself - I'll bet that was a bear to fussy cut. Perfect quilting to bring it to life. You did an awesome job.

Just to clarify this was not fussy cut. The lily, leaf and stems were cut from relatively plain fabrics, pale yellow and two greens. All of the shading, veins, etc. we're done with transparent fabric so that the original colour shows through in places. The shapes were ironed on using Heat & Bond, then painted, then stitched.
i'm not sure how to post a picture at this point but will try to add one of the piece before painting.
