My machine has been doing that for ages, it fills up at the bottom and none of the thread makes it to the top. I have taken to holding a pencil underneath the thread and helping it along a bit!
I will check my manual next time to make sure its going through the right part of the guide!

If one of the guides looks like a little flat circle be sure you are going in the right direction with the thread. Mine has a little arrow for which direction the thread should go and it is the opposite of what would make sense to me. that might be enough to make a difference.

................or that you have it threaded thru those guides in the right/left direction that it requires!

I remember that in the mid 60s when I was in 7th grade, girls were forced to take a sewing class. The instructor actually TIMED US for that we could thread a DSM in a very limited time allowed.

Are any obstacles in the way of your thread? Sometimes my extra feet hold the thread up a bit. Just make sure you have a clear path from spindle or guides to bobbin.

I also help guide the thread with my finger. I am happier that way. Otherwise I think it does it unevenly. Probably just habit really though.
