Beautiful skirt! I can't see it but maybe it shows up more 'in the flesh.' Think of where it will be....under the tree. Decisions really are personal, aren't they.

Mimi-lovely quilt! Colors are so pretty! Your center medallion is gorgeous!
Quilter-such a pretty tree skirt! Very original, and I am sure they will love it just the way it is!

I had some sewing time this morning-attached the green square in a square border. I think I will do one more border, and it will be the size I want for this project. I so appreciate you all letting me crash your party! I have learned so much, and made blocks that are new to me, lots of fun once I took the plunge and just started!
Is this final border too busy? Any suggestions? Boy, it looks different on this screen! Makes my eyes wiggle!! haha

Jillmc, that is simply beautiful. Love how it all came together and the treatment of the squares on point making a chevron with the row before. Wonderful. This has been a good experience, I agree.

Rodney, if you look at about the 3 o'clock portion on the very inner ring in green, there are five little ones that aren't as shiny as the surrounding neighbors. I left the seam open by them so it would be at the back of the tree. Jaba is right though, I will always know. So, after finishing the second one, the ripper comes out. There appears to be one miscue with the red at about the 7 o'clock position but it really is the right one. Just how it fell in the print, I guess. About to get the reverse wedges sewn together for the other one so will post when done. I did replace those as they would be in the outer circle.

Thanks quilter 65....I just realized this is the wrong layout-it's an EQ version....there is a pink skinny border missing! Back to the drawing board!

And, for what it's worth, I would re-do the incorrect pieces in your skirt, too....they are not noticeable, but you will know!

Jill, I like the pink border of the second one, but like the outside border blocks of the first one. But actually, either one is beautiful and the second one with the darker border is probably what I would have used before this excursion. I really like things that stop the eye. I must learn how to do this in EQ7 so I won't have catastrophes so often.

Here are the circles. I am thinking that with the second one, first one pictured, that I may seam it up and cover the middle and make a table topper. Or I might just keep the options open. The one I had posted earlier is now "fixed". Of course, never goes together quite as flawlessly as the first time so may still have to tweak even though I carefully removed and used each removed piece as the pattern for the replacement. Still the seam isn't the same and I have a bit of fullness. Ugh! But you are right about fixing it. I just wanted an easy way out! So without further ado, tada:

Thanks for your encouragement and advice. Now back to the current project.

I wasnt happy with the way thisone was panning out with the idea I had, so I just added a single strip, cutting the corner squares to sort of match up. I think I'll do the twirly ribbon next then call it quits on this one.

M-Fay, your cross stitched center is adorable! And the border fabrics are so sweet! Your second quilt is beautiful! Can't wait to see it completed! Love the center panel...unusual. Your choices of fabrics for the borders is perfect! Thanks for sharing!
