I am getting excited. I had a quilting retreat this last weekend and it was wonderful to spend 3 days with like minded women with no distractions. Thank you everyone for posting your fabrics and funny squirrel stories. Now to get into the stash this week and get cutting. I am thinking I will have two different coordinating fabrics to send, not together. I am trying not to buy new fabric for my part that gets sent out. I have plenty to choose from.

Janice, I just sent an email. I am in for 13. Don't have any idea what fabric I will send, but I'll figure something out.

I should just send everything to you and have you make them I ordered that book too and have it. Tried to do 1 pattern and that is when I realized this woman was not into paper piecing at all. Everytime I've tried it I waste more fabric than what's it's worth. Love the patterns and the accuracy of it, just not my thing sorry to say. Will send you all you want travelinggramma...wouldn't want you to get bored or anything Seriously that would be perfect, nice to have the state block with the state flower. Thank you in advance, will gladly make you one if you have a favorite that you want, if I can do it, just let me know.

Jaba, you sound like me...I LOVE seeing paper piecing but I can NOT get the hang of it. I just cant seem to understand how to cut the fabric right and then sew it so Im going to stick to normal piecing! do they make a block called "Missouri"?? Ive seen some with state named blocks that are normal piecing but don't remember a Missouri.

Joan there is one on Quilter's Cache named Missouri Star, says it's paper pieced but wouldn't be hard to change it. Not the same one in the book of state blocks but think each designer has their own opinion. Just got done labeling the fabrics so anyone that wants to know they will know the flower and the State. Not a real big thing would just like the fabric featured. Never made a floral quilt like this before so it will be different for me. Kind of between quilts for me right now, have 5 of mine to get quilted and 2 customer quilts that I need to get done. Guess that means I just like to sew. Loading the quilt is the challenge for me, hard on the back issues I have and the MS. But 1 better go on the table tomorrow and get ready to be quilted.

Default HEADS UP - SMALL GROUPS ONLY and FOUR MORE DAYS TO JOIN!

Hello there...
Just an fyi, we will almost certainly be having only small groups, probably just one each of the 2 month and 4 month. The number wanting a large group is too small so my suggestion is for those wanting a larger number of blocks, join the small 2 month group AND the small 4 month group. (Several have already elected this option.) You will be able to complete the 2 month group first, then start on the 4 month group. This format will eliminate the need for a second fast group following the first and your F8 mailings can be consolidated.

Please note, the above is subject to change. If there are a lot of last minute sign-ups, I'll cast all this to the wind and start again!

Four more days until I close the sign-ups. If anyone is fence-sitting, now's the time to jump on over to this side and join us! I look forward to hearing from you.

Jaba, you are so lucky to have a long arm machine! I priced one at Apple Tree Quilting the other day and about had a heart attack! I LOVE making the tops...probably wouldnt care if I ever get them quilted, I just like making the tops, matching the fabric, etc. I told the ladies that take my tops to the quilters for me that I had 3 more finished to go down and they just couldnt beleive I had that many done since I just got 2 back last week...I wont tell them about the other 2-3 I have put away that I wont get done anytime soon. Im so glad that my quilters are willing to do them for me and are very fast at returning them. She puts it in the machine and he runs the "arm". They dont use but 2 different designs but its sure worth the price to me and Ive become pretty good at binding them myself!

I had to laugh yesterday...the Pittsburg Steelers quilt I gave to our maintance man may have got him in hot water...
His wife said "hmmmmm WHY would she give YOU a steelers quilt...you got something going with her?? LOL You have to know him and the fact Im 65 years old to see the humor in it..He said she was smiling when she said it....but it made me laugh!
