Goodwill Outlets are REALLY hit-or-miss; that's where the unsold stuff goes as a last-ditch effort to sell it, things are dirt cheap and clothing is by the pound. I haven't bought any clothes there yet (though I keep thinking some day I will hunt for flannel shirts there) but I have gotten some other nice stuff there for great prices. My best score there was probably a 12x17 artist's light box in perfect shape for $4.

Wow! What a find! Our Goodwill doesn't have anything but clothes and dishes, etc.

The Goodwill stores in Middle Tennessee are awful! On half price day, their prices are still higher than prices in other areas.

My GW has clothes at good prices and in good condition. Some still have the tags on them. The blouses, skirts and pants are all $3.49. Awhile back I got a Necchi in a really nice large cabinet with three large drawers. Its in great condition and sews very well. The only thing I am disappointed in is the knob that drops the feed dogs will not turn. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to rectify this problem?

That's a great find! I'm still waiting for my big find! I enjoy going to thrift stores but so far nothing as far as quilting/sewing materials. Enjoy all your new treasures.

I usually find quilting fabrics hanging in with the linens.

Go to the vintage sewing machine area on this board and ask your question. Somebody will know the answer.

Way to Go. You really hit the jackpot on those buys. We are so remote that we don't even have a Goodwill Store. Several Thrift shops, and the most I have ever found was a little shovel shaped iron and some vintage linens to use in wall quilts. You are a super shopper in my book
