You're right there of course. I've even thought, it might not cost that much more, cause the case is light, and not that fragile by itself. I think I was hoping, somewhat optimistically, that this seller had enough high marks that maybe he knew what he was doing. I keep thinking I won't buy anymore off private auction sellers, but sometimes I'm week! Shopgoodwill OTOH, has done well with pkg. Oh well, I like challenges, let's see how well I can fix this one!

I am jealous of the center bed decal on your Maywood. It is the same as my Windsor B but in GREAT shape....

I have had a few vintage machines not survive the shipping, very frustrating and now I am afraid to get one anymore that involves shipping.

Yeah, i need to get into making useable photos to use for WS decals and learn that process. This one has perfect decals except bed to left of the needle, rusted spots there. The Windsor has decent decal left there to copy.

The National case looks amazing! You did a great job!

I would be sooo upset to see the bentwood case all broken like that on arrival - very unfortunate! I wouldn't know where to begin to even try to fix it.

The seller was sincerely apologetic, and is refunding a partial. I talked to him on the phone, and said maybe if her wants to sell something like that, sell the case and head seperately. Either that or ship in seperate boxes, in addition to the bubble wrap burrito treatment.

I took close ups with a camera, will upload hopefully this evening. Hard to get a perfectly straight on shot of that one.

That's really unfortunate but you are doing a fantastic job at fixing them.
