I pay $35 for a lap quilt to just be quilted... And that is inexpensive in my area.

After reading thru all the posts on this thread, I'm anxious to see how your quilt turns out! Since a few people have evidently been to their place of business, and one had a quilt finished that she said she's pleased with, it may just be a good deal.
Like when I happened upon Connectingthreads.com..I was very hesitant to order from them. I was a newbie quilter (had learned hand quilting 40 years ago, about 5 years ago decided to pursue quilting again, found a great lqs, and here I am).
So I placed an order with CT, when it came in I was pleasantly surprised! I still order from them and only once was an order wrong. I called and the customer service was a great as everything else. Matter of fact they sent me an extra yard of the fabric that was shorted. In several kits I've ordered for them I've had fabric that was a tad smaller than what was listed, in that case there's always been the correct fabric AND the smaller one included..So I get extra..they said it's just how they do it.

I just got a quote from them for a quilt that is 84" x 100". Their price is $45 for an all over Celtic scroll design plus $27 for white backing plus $12 for polyester batting, a total of $83, plus return shipping. They won't trim it unless you also have them bind it. Still sounds pretty reasonable for a non-special quilt that you don't want custom free-hand LA quilted. I have one of those quilt tops that I think I will sent them to try out. Will let you all know how it comes out. She said their current lead time is 2-3 weeks, not bad. My local LAQ is currently booking for September !

Debating sending one of my "extras" to them as well... Can't wait to see what some of you who are trying them think of your finished quilts..

As others have said, I think this is definitely "too good to be true".
As an example, my LA charges for a panto is $0.0125/sq inch, minimum $60. A good batting will cost around $15-$20 (or more, depending), and if they use a good quality wide backing (and load the quilt sideways) that would be 2.5 yards at $12-$16/yd. So, coming from me, that would be:
$73.8 (quilting) + $15 (batting) + $30 (backing) = $118.8.... at a minimum. And there are alot of LA'ers in my area that charge significantly more.

I would definitely as for (1) pictures of their work, (2) references from other quilters, and (3) name brands of the batting and fabric.
Oh, and I forgot the binding charge - that's the same as panto work, so, another $73.80 (because I really hate doing binding)

You can get a crib quilt quilted for $15! They have been in business for a long time. I am going to have them do my next quilt. Check out their website.

Wow...I can't wait to see how the quilt turns out! It really does sound too good to be true but you just never know!

If it's really that good, and THAT cheap...they are going to get a huge rush of business from this board!

That seems really cheap to me. I've got a longarm machine and there's no way I would quilt something that big for only $20.00.
