Default Following quilt-a-longs online

I read a lot of quilting blogs and have seen several that host quilt-a-longs. I never used to follow them, but recently one on Diary of a Quilter blog caught my eye. Amy gave very good instructions on making the Churn Dash block from fat eighths. I found most of the fabrics she used in her beachy colored quilt and had fun making all the blocks I needed for my own quilt. How many of you have done a quilt-a-long like this? Have you enjoyed doing it?

I used the tractor block tutorial from http://www.beeinmybonnetco.blogspot.ca that was part of the Barn-a-long series but I didn't do the barns. Some QB members did do the Barn-a-long series and in fact one was posted this week for winning a ribbon, I think.

I did the barn quilt along. It was really fun. Pam Buda of Heartspunquilts quilts is starting a new Quiltalong in August, yardage requirements just posted. The current one is at week 8 out of 10 or 12 weeks, not sure. Temecula Quilt Co also just posted the first weeks instructions for a "Summer Spool" quilt along. They did a great one last summer where you made a 2 in basket block every day for a month, then they shared 3 different ways to sew them together. There are usually kits you can purchase if you want. I usually shop my stash!
Google Temecula Quilt Company And Heartspunquilts for the current sewalongs. I would post the links but my ipad is being very cranky!

The sew-along was on Bernina's We All Sew page... You can see it here: http://weallsew.com/2014/05/12/how-t...-quilt-part-4/

What I really like about the instructions given is that you are told/shown exactly how to press your seams for best nesting of blocks. There is also a flickr link on the above referenced page showing the beach themed fabrics Amy used, as well as the choices other folks went with.
