    Improved nine patch, I've seen it called. Evidentally many names for it.

    I have seen it called a glorified nine patch before on a pattern I have.

    I made this quilt many years ago---don't remember the name but the pattern was from a Sharlene Jorgenson book. It was made by making the nine patches then using a template to cut the curved sides--cutting out many of the melon shapes and sewing them on. I still love it and have it on a bed. Unfortunately I have the books all packed and ready for our move next month so can't tell you which book and she has many. It was not the main pattern in the book--pretty sure it was in one of the quilting from the heartland books. Looked on Amazon and didn't see it--the book has a reddish brown cover.

    I made one years ago and it was called "Improved Nine Patch".
