Well, duh! I have my target (9mm) stands made from PVC, but never thought of using it to suspend the weight of my Q's. Now that I've smacked my forehead, I'm making another shopping list. You've inspired a bunch of us to get busy. Good onya.

I mentioned this setup to hubby and I think he is going to make me one. He made the most wonderful movable above ground sprinkler system for me long ago with pvc when we rented a house. I think he would be fast at making this for me if I could just figure out a better placement for my sewing desk. It backs up to two walls in a corner now and this would not work. I need to get my thinking cap on!

I think that the picture you are referring to the Jennoops Quilt Suspenders. I have ordered one. But I like your idea of making one that will support the quilt back and side, especially for queen and king sized quilts which can be very bulky and heavy. Did you use 1" schedule 40 pipe? I have tons of it and the fittings purchased for another project.

You are a genius. Did you glue it or is it so that you can take it down?
Just started today quilting my 2nd ever quilt to make. Decided to quilt it on the sewing machine instead of by hand. This would be perfect if only I had room for it. Right now I am set up in the Great Room on a table with chairs around. Your idea is terrific and if I keep going on this, I will have to get some pvc.
