Default How should I quilt this? Suggestions welcome

I have my new grandson's quilt top all sandwiched and ready to quilt. The baby is due next week and I'm just not sure of the best way to quilt it. Any suggestions? (By the way, for any quilt police out there, the points of the edge squares are not supposed to meet according to the pattern. Kind of different, but that is how the instructions said to make it.)

Totally cute quilt. I don't have any quilting suggestions, because I am hopeless at thinking up ideas.

And FYI, when blocks are set with space around them like that, they are "floating", and perfectly acceptable. It's the best way to make stars, because you never worry about losing the points.

How Cute! IF you are machine quilting, and IF the very thought doesn't scare you, could you do an 'elephant march' in the sashing? Or is it very narrow? Elephant march= elephants marching across nose holding the tail of the one ahead. Maybe mom and baby elephants.

You could quilt a stipple (meander) around the elephants. That would really make them pop. A simple serpentine (wavy line) would work in the sashing. Any border design you are comfortable with would work in the border. It's an absolutely adorable quilt. You did a great job.

Your quilt is absolutely adorable, I love the 30's fabrics, and the floating squares are wonderful. I like the idea of stitching something wavy in the area around the elephants to make them pop out more, but not too much stitching so it will be soft and fluffy for the baby.
