Oh my, Meanmom---that is beautiful and no wonder you won at the Fair. I wish I'd have seen yours before--I really like the consistent background with the scrappy blocks. It's bright and cheery but all pulled together so nicely by the background and sashing. Is your sashing pieced or striped fabric? Toverly and I are having trouble trying to decide how to tie our scrappy blocks together and this is a great way. Well done!!

I had a hard time deciding on my background. I really wanted a dark purple but when I saw the blue I knew it was the one. I bought 8 yards and had some left over. The sashing is a batik I saw in a quilt at the LQS. Of course they didn't have any of it. I searched and searched on line for most of the year. I asked the LQS what brands of batiks they carried and searched every manufacturers website to find out what it was called. I finally found it on ebay. It had become almost an obsession that I had to find it. I knew it was the perfect one.
Thanks.
Pat

Good Morning everyone! Well I see the light at the end of tunnel. I have all the kits done and about 7 more to do. It's so humid outside, that yardwork is out of the question. Here is my New Jersey

toverly--another nice block. I like how the two teals kind of blend to extend the star
I have all of the papers measured, fabrics chosen for a few and fabric cut for 13. I am having a quilting weekend with a friend next month, so hope to get caught up some.
Here is my block for this week.

Hi
Toverly and Carriem your blocks a lovely, I have only 3 more to sew and 4 more to cut all up 7 more to finish, I have been hunting down my white back ground fabric this pass week I will need enough to finish 1 block,or if I can get more that will decide on how I set the quilt out.

Lyn and Mirabelle--great to see a couple more pretty blocks today.
I've been busy cutting...I better get working on next week's block when I have time to spend in the clubhouse. Maybe tomorrow.

They look great y'all! I am starting to set the squares. I have figured out that I'm quilting with a QAYG method in 4 parts with a center square. If I set them 3 squares wide by 4 squares long (total 7 x 7) they can pinwheel around a center square on the back. That will be the 50th star.
