AT LAST I am pleased to add my first star block - Colorado. When this thread first started - I got the book and had it spiral bound. But, with finishing my Dear Jane - and still hand quilting needs to be done, - and doing two BOW's ( Sylvia's Bridal Sampler and Loyal Union Sampler) time hasn't been on my side. Now, my local quilt group here in the UK has set us a challenge for 2014 / 2015 to do 9 inch stars. This has given me the push I needed to start making these blocks. I have been watching all your journeys and your blocks are truly lovely !!

Welcome DottyD! I love the dark background stars. I keep thinking of the song "Starry Starry Night". But mine with it's light background would have to be "Starry Starry Day". Glad you decided to jump in!

Great job DottyD! Of course I like most anything with purple. Can't wait to see your next block.

Every time I see the weekly blocks my eyes just sing! Every set looks so different and yet so the same. You ladies are going to have some amazing quilts.

For those with a need to know or just want to see it, the schedule for August & September blocks is:

8/3/2014 New Mexico
8/10/2014 New York
8/17/2014 North Carolina
8/24/2014 North Dakota
8/31/2014 Ohio

9/7/2014 Oklahoma
9/14/2014 Oregon
9/21/2014 Pennsylvania
9/28/2014 Rhode Island

Edited to Add: As FlyLady often says.... You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are. O.K.?

If you haven't heard of her, she has a website that will help disorganized (of which I am one) people get their house to an organized state and looking clean and neat. It's not helping at all with my fabric, but at least the rest of my house is getting better.

Barb., you must be kidding! Housework???? no, I would rather quilt...and I may jump in here for August and September Stars, if I can pull myself away from and "I SPY" quilt for a two year old that I am putting together... keep making it more detailed....doing a front and a back of 144 pieces each. My eye is seeing what it sees, better sometimes than others. I can SEE, and that is a real blessing. Love all your stars, everyone, its encouraging to see so many.

Have a great day today, everyone.
