Happylab- I do love your quilt.... and the subject matter. You did a great job. You should post it on the UFO challenge thread.... that's the place most of us post our finished UFOs.
And, Jo---- Your quilts are amazing. I can understand why they are so time consuming. They certainly look labor intensive. And it's good to read that while your life has taken a tumble, you're back up and moving on... with style. That's fantastic.

Lisa: I have gone through periods where I just can't decide where to start. The most helpful suggestion I picked up here on the Board was pretty simple, "Always leave something undone." Sounds simple, doesn't it? Just having that one seam to sew somehow gets me settled down and focused. The next step just seems to declare itself. Sometimes putting everything but the one you are going to work on away helps to get you started too. Pick one and show us pictures we will cheer you on.

Hi Lisa9126. First, let me welcome you to QB and the UFO thread.
Do you have any idea about what you want to make with your DH's CR bags? Do you want to make a quilt? or perhaps a wall hanging?
Do you know the fiber content of the bags? I 've seen CR bags but don't remember if they are cotton or a man-made fiber. That information will help you when you decide about washing the bags or the project after it is completed.
Is the fabric woven or knit? If it's woven, you shouldn't have any difficulty using in in blocks or using it as a block. But if it is a knit fabric, it will stretch. I would suggest putting an iron-on interfacing on the back if it is knit.
If I were using these bags, I would probably wash them and then cut them apart along the seam lines. That would open them up so they could be used as a piece of fabric. I don't know if any of this has helped you but someone else will come along and add to all my suggestions, I'm sure. Good luck..... don't get overwhelmed. It's a process of little steps.

I've been working on my nephew's quilt. I am ready to quilt the rows (QAYG) and then will add borders. There will be a 2" black, 3" multi-colored fabric, and 6" black borders.
