My vote is for Option #2..while both are wonderful, that just seems to fit better with your top..

I agree. #2 seems to let top be focused on.

I like it the way it is but if it must be larger then use the second border. It is less distracting from the beautiful and intricate centre.

I like the second one. It does not distract from the body of the quilt. Either way it is beautiful.
