Default Featherweight motor parts?

Does anyone have a parted out FW and or FW motor? I need one carbon brush motor tube, the square, copper tube that surrounds the motor brush and is soldered to the wires. Mine got bent out of shape and needs to be replaced. Grrr.....

PM me please if you have one to sell??

Don't think you read the post "I need one carbon brush motor tube, the square, copper tube that surrounds the motor brush and is soldered to the wires"

How old is your machine, or does that matter?

The age of the motor shouldn't matter, but I should be clear that I'm only looking to buy the part. I don't need a motor. Thanks!

You may be able to get a brass tubing from an Ace Hardware store and make the tube you need.

mcmaster carr has small squars brass tube i think. so does my local hobby shop for model making, whether the right dimendion i dont know. you may have to buy an old motor with issues off auction, or perhaps from an old Singer repair shop.in your area.

Unfortunately, our local Sew 'N Vac Store, which had a monumental amount of old parts, burned to the ground. All those old, but good parts were lost. To be honest, I don't know of anywhere around here you could find that part.

However, I was cruising around e-bay last week, just for the heck of it, and there are a number of old FW machines which are specified for "parts or restoration". They're still around $100, so if you can find what you need elsewhere, you would be better off doing that. E-bay prices are usually pretty high -- JMHO!

Sometimes you can buy parts readily or buy a for parts only body round 40-100. Hope you can find what you need without having to go this route..
