I am looking for one this part only. I'm not interested in buying a good motor and ruining it. I know someone, some where has a parts motor that will still have this one, bitty part. LOL.

Candace,

Just a thought because I don't really know how bad the tube is damaged, but could you use the squared end of a file or something similar as a template to reform the tube? I know if I was in your situation, I'd sure try to fix it any way I could.

Do you have the dimensions of the part you need? Surely Singer didn't use a propitiatory part when making the motor for those machines. Possibly the tube from a different machine would work. I have one here that has the square tubes but its definitely not a featherweight.

They were very big on proprietary parts, they didn't even use standard screw sizes.
here's a link to a mfr. they supply hobby stores.

Ok I see now. Well If you want to try this one you can have it free of charge, just pm your address and I'll send it out in the morning mail.

Thanks all, I've been in contact with a member who's nice enough to sell me a broken motor that I can also use other parts off of for future FW machines. I was able to get the brush tube on mine to function, but still wasn't thrilled with it so I will feel better replacing it.

Jim, got your PM and I appreciate the info.

I was going to throw it away but for some strange reason I kept it. One of the wires going to the field is broken so its really not any good. I'll probably toss it in the copper bucket unless someone else has a use for it.
