Question Fabric inventory app or program?

I am planning a thorough cleaning of my sewing room in the next month or so and thought it would be a great idea to actually inventory what's in my sewing room for homeowner insurance purposes. Does anyone know of any apps or software programs that will help keep track of all the fabric, tools and other stuff in my sewing room? I saw there was one listed for ipad and iphone but I have a Windows 8 phone. I'm not sure I really want to know how much money is in my quilting room but guess I should know in case something ever happened!

I have one but it is on my iphone 4 and I think it was 1.99 to download. It's called fabric stash and it does have
a category for non fabric items.

I use evernote. I had no luck finding an android based app that I liked. Evernote should work through all platforms.

eta: I only keep track of what I have and how much of it. I have NO DESIRE to know what I spend. none. I tag my entries with colors, patterns, etc.

You ladies are way beyond me!

I thought about taking pictures of everything and then dealing with the issue of how much if needed later.

Pictures are highly recommended . Unless the insurance claims adjuster is a quilter or married to one, would they really believe some of us? Lol

I was told to take pictures -- if something happens they will replace what you can show them. Even canned goods. If you take a picture of a full pantry, that is what they will replace.

I would probably use excel or ms access depending on how much fabric you actually have. Probably excel if you want to access it on your phone while out shopping as the androids do have access to excel files. You can develop your spreadsheet in whatever style works for you and sort/filter as needed.

Nearly two years later, I am still waiting for my insurance to pay up. It's now in Federal court and I'll have to give a third to the lawyers. Isn't that grand?

I think it would be SO depressing to have a figure staring me in the face of how much of my hard earned money ends up in the fabric closet! Even though I no longer purchase fabric unless needed for a particular project, I don't seem to be making much of a dent. I guess I need to get going with more Bonnie Hunter scrap quilts!!!

I need a fabric app. I bought 3 bolts of different shades of white. Yep, put them NEXT to one bolt of white that I bought last year...and still un-opened! Dang! Now I have 2 "optic" whites. Sigh.....
