Sharon Schamber has a You Tube video on how to make your own ironing board. You can make it to size for the area you want. I made two- a very big one to cover my cutting table and a smaller one for ironing blocks.

I've seen them at JoAnn's and Hancock's. One pad was also a combo/carry case for the iron. $20.00 I think.

I bought mine from a catalogue for $10. Can use it anywhere.

A thin piece of wood paneling topped with a piece of an old mattress pad, plus a pretty cover makes a good ironing pad. If you want to transport it to classes, leave off the board, cut the mattress pad to the size you want, and make a pillowcase type cover for it that can be washed. Then you can fold to take with you. Cheap and useful!

My Martelli 3-piece roundabout has an ironing pad/surface that I use every single day that I am sewing, and I love it. I've already made a new cover for it by using the original as a pattern.

Mine is a combination fold up with cutting surface and ironing surface. Comes in handy.

I found a scrap piece of old paneling in the basement and covered it with the fold up portable ironing surface that I think I bought at Joann. I just wrapped it with a piece of flannel and then a sleeve of fabric (the print was bad in this section). Then attached the ironing surface. I store it under my sewing table and can get to it in a heartbeat.

The best thing I have for taking to classes and retreats is the ironing surface I made out of a TV tray. Purchased oak TV tray from Wally World for $10. I put 2 layers of heavy cotton batting on it then a canvas duck piece of fabric from Joanns. Stapled all to the bottom of tray with staple gun. I even took a piece of fabric and put elastic around it to make a cover so I could take that off and wash it occasionally.
