In my opinion a quilt needs light, medium and dark fabrics, otherwise you get a quilt with no contrast.
I like your fabrics, you could add some dark brown and have a great looking quilt.

I was just watching Sewing with Nancy "Quilt with Carefree Curves, Part 2" and a couple of her projects made me think of this post! http://video.wpt.org/video/2365112679/ (The first is at 11:10 and the second is at 15:45 if you want to fast forward through the video).

She showed a Fan and a Wagon Wheel that used yellows and oranges similar to what you've got, along with a multi-color batik and some pops of fuschia and purple. Really bright and pretty! I found a picture of the Wagon Wheel here: http://www.nancyzieman.com/blog/wp-c...G_4397-imp.jpg

    Great idea!

This looks great in person, but probably does not have the contrast it should have. Will add 1-2 borders, probably white and something quite different (narrow). This is just a progress shot..

A bleached muslin will set them off real pretty honey. I think you should make your dream.

I made a quilt for my son who requested orange. I gathered as many oranges I could find that read solid and not girly, paired it with a rich turquoise Kona cotton. This pattern is not online anymore, but its a double ....(or maybe triple) 4 patch.
