Nice looking setup. I had to read it twice too. I thought the Centenial badges were 1951 and maybe a small amount of 1952 machines.

Most of my Singer Centennial machines date to 1951, but a couple of them date to 1950. I wouldn’t be surprised if the celebration badges were in stock and ready to use before 1951, in an effort to have them on all of the machines available for sale in 1951. And maybe the tail end of that 1949 serial number allotment didn’t actually get made in 1949, or maybe like I’ve heard, the Dealers popped the old badge off and put a blue badge on existing stock so people wouldn’t think they were getting an old machine?

I have one more maybe for you. Maybe the reason you see 1951 badges on 1952 machines is because they ordered too many blue badges but went ahead and used them up?

Singer had tons of machines sitting in their factories ready to go. The badges were put on the machines as they left the factories, so machines that were 3 years old at that point (like my 1948 Centennial badged 15-90) would have received a Centennial badge. They didn't badge 1952 machines though because they were afraid that people would think they were getting an old machine.

That is a very cool machine. There was one of those (same setup) for sale up here in Seattle for $700 OBO. It sat on CL for months. I was tempted, I'll admit.
