I haven't seen those Kleenex boxes in the store as of yet. When the Mormons opened their temple in San Diego to the public, I saw a really neat quilt pattern on the floor done in tile but knew I couldn't take a picture.

I have taken pictures of floors before to use as a pattern. On the other side, my sister just bought a tile saw.......... got me wondering if I could do a mariners compass in tile in my bathroom. lol

A local church has wonderful exposed bricks which I think would make a lovely quilt pattern.

My husband had port put in 18 months ago and while I sat and waited for Dr. I drew the tile pattern on floor in three shades of peach and three of turq. rectangles. Haven't done anything with it but found it the other day

I knew I was normal LOL I keep a note book in my purse and I will draw out the tile patterns in public buildings. The quilt I made for my Dad is from the restroom floor from the old Woolworth store in downtown Toledo. I love visiting old courthouses and post offices..Those old marble floors and walls are beautiful and great inspiration

That's really cool, maybe you should make something to match., or not; but quilting designs are getting much more prevalent it seems to me, an that's a good thing

I really chuckled to read what everybody's saying about seeing potential quilt patterns everywhere. I thought I was the only one who did this, so I've kept it pretty quiet - until I was recently caught in a restroom sketching a floor pattern in my ever-present notebook. The lady knew at once what I was doing (she was a quilter, too, natch), and thought it was so funny. Not only that, but I find myself scoping out silk ties, so guys! watch your ties! <G> (and if you have any you're getting rid of, send 'em to me, please.) Actually - all joking aside - I find that quilting has sharpened my math skills (algebra is a lost language to me, but geometry makes sense)... but then I'll also tell you in all seriousness that chocolate is a vegetable. <G> So eat your veggies!
