Good Morning! Thanks for the compliments y'all! Right now, I feel like this quilt is lagging behind. It's hard to stay as motivated as I was in the beginning. Isn't that always the way it is? I just know it can't become a UFO. So here is my Rhode Island. A different star shape. Sorry for the double photos. Cant' figure out why, I think it's a problem across the board.

Thanks Barb!

I haven't gotten to sew in about a month and a half and probably won't get much time until mid-October...until then, I am enjoying everyone's weekly posts. For those who have only made a few blocks and turned them into table runners, wall, hangings, smaller quilts, etc...please post a picture for us to see!

I have been quiet for a while, just too many things going on in my life at the moment. As I didn't want these stars to be lost in my cupboard I have decided to finish them with what I had already made. So this is what I have ended up with, 2 small lap quilts. They will be given to a charity group I support who will quilt them and then forward them onto an aged care facility.

Thank you Carriem for hosting this project, I wish I could have seen it through to the end but unfortunately that can't be.

Mirabella they look great , love the way the black slashes make the blocks stand out and how the two different boards make the quilt look so different. Very well done.

Beautiful job as usual, Mirab. Love the color combo you used. The black makes your blocks pop. How kind of you to donate them. They are lovely.

Mirabella, those blocks and quilts are beautiful.

I have been lurking for nearly a year. With QNS's encouragement, I took the plunge. Now have the bound book, CD, and FF. So I am really late for this round or a jump ahead for the next one. After doing two, I can see why one could flag out. My, they are time-consuming. I am not the fastest quilter around, but normally not this slow, but maybe it will get faster. I need to work on the contrast/value thing. I think they may look better in person. So tada, here is Alabama and Alaska, my versions:

Kalama's setting is inspired, in my opinion. I have decided to use mostly batiks and only batik for background. I have decided the circles represent planets orbiting the stars?? You all have done beautiful work and this is inspirational to me and others. Good job, Carriem!
