Copied from Needlebar on the Asian made Singer 15's

This Asian made Singer 15 has the new, glossy Sphinx decals, a plastic knob to drop the feed dogs (which is prone to breaking) and a modern Red Singer 'S' logo on the pillar. The stitch length lever is black colored, the rear inspection plate has a striated pattern.

These Singers are NOT reproductions, NOT "clones", NOT "replicas" NOR "copies", as is often said in various sewing machine interest groups. As far as anyone is aware the production of this model, the most successful and long running in Singer's history, has never stopped. Indeed the model is still manufactured by Singer and sold as Singer. Although the model has improvements on much older models, the quality is inferior (as with most things these days).

That’s just it. They ARE real Singers. And they’re of a “vintage” design. The company making them is the Singer Company, or at least the branch of the Singer Company that now owns the rights to make this model.

I noticed one photo showed a tag on the machine that said “15NL”. That’s the model number of the machine, and it shouldn’t be of any surprise to a buyer that it’s a more recent model of the Singer 15.

Not the first time I've been wrong. I knew they were real Singers but I was thinking more like a re-issue. I didn't know that production never stopped.
It's too bad they've fallen so far.

Well done!! The average price range of many machines that are listed here that are dirty, need oiling, needs fixing, missing something, smelly/stained/broken case is probably about $250 -$400. Why?.... because it is old and they think they can make some $ on this "antique"
