Suicide is indeed a terrible tragedy, leaving the survivors with a feeling of loss that will never go away--my first husband took his own life during the Vietnam period-and my sons and I, our families, his families, still miss him and wonder what our lives would have been like had he chosen to remain with us.

My sincere condolences go out to this family. May your loved ones rest in peace with God's love and grace guiding you through this period of your lives.

I totally agree - my brother killed himself 12 years ago this month. We feel the loss every day.

Sympathies to you and your family also, oldnquiltinglady. Not a fun club to belong to, is it?

I cannot believe this, why? I just emailed her about "The Dude" and the new ebooks. She was so full of energy about the new books. We always told each other that we live in the most beautiful state in the United States. I really don't understand this at all. I have every one of her patterns, she and Susan Clark just created some of the most gorgeous quilts and shared them with us. I don't understand...

Oh my goodness, what horrible news!!!!! This is probably an odd request, but can someone direct me to a photo of Pam? Although the name is very familiar to me, and I have some of her patterns, I honestly can't place her face. What a tragedy!!!!!

Actually, there is a letter on the Pam's Club website, written by her son, Dallas.

Such a beautiful tribute written by their son. You can tell there was much love in the family. We don't really know what is in someone's heart, but I do hope they are at peace.

Just found out about this from a friend over the weekend. I too have enjoyed her work for some time! Truly sad news! More to the story that we probably will never find out.
