A lot of competition quilters use a light, thin batting with a puffy one. I made one with double batting..it turned out great.

As for me, I had a very serious "senior" moment the other day. I was thinking very hard about something and, at the same time, turned the garbage disposal on and started to put my hand in it to push the garbage into it.

Luckily, I caught myself before my hand was actually in the garbage disposal.

God was certainly with me at that moment!
now that just made my knees weak!

If you wet it, the glue will release. You do not have to "wash" it but it does need to be very wet.

If you find that it is to thick for your machine, make it a nice tied quilt.

I made my first baby quilt a double bat because I wanted it fluffy. It was fine - quilted fine.

Senior moments are a daily occurrence for me... I am really getting worried, as my mom had dementia. I told my husband the other day about my frequent forgetful moments... all he said was... " so next time I tell you something , don't argue with me about being right"....omg... men... no sympathy from that one....

I think your quilt will be fine... especially in NY.... can't be too warm in the winter there, I bet....

I just had one thT lasted nearly a week. While making a peasant top for myself, my hand slipped and I cut a small hole, just off center, at the top of the front of the blouse. I spent five days trying to figure out how to make a flower Applique to hide the boo-boo. On Fridat I got the idea to put an applique butterfly on the flower, but could not figure out a fabric flower that did not stick out in the center front of my chest. Last night, while doodling flowers, it hit me. Duh, no flower, just the butterfly appliqué! The shirt will be done tomorrow.

Remember the days when we spent an hour or more at a time ironing clothes? While watching TV? And waiting for a phone call, all at the same time? When the phone rang, I answered the iron. Bright red blush but only on one side.
