If it helps any, I sold my 98 for $400 - the same price I paid for it two years before. They are wonderful sewing machines - straight stitch only, and very strong motors. I'd offer them $400 and see where it goes. You will have to pay tax.

Hope you take a test drive on the Juki with a few pieces of a block and a small quilt sandwich to see if it performs like you expect.

I have one and LOVE it! They are selling it for about half of new cost; seems fair. I've got LOTS of "miles" on mine and it is none the worse for wear. It's a real workhorse; I just keep it oiled and it's happy.

And I can't say enough good things about FMQing with this machine. It is the BEST in my book!

This is my machine and I love it. It's fast, powerful and doesn't balk, growl or break needles when sewing thicker layers. I paid $600 for mine almost two years ago (machines are more money in Canada) and only wish that I had bought it sooner. I'm now looking at the Juki Exceed 600 to have some fancy stitches in addition to my quilting machine.

I have one and it is a work horse. I have it serviced every year and have had no problems.
