Their facebook page got hacked and the hackers are posting weird off topic (and sometimes very inappropriate) links. They cannot do anything at all because they have lost control of their page to this hacker and facebook so far refuses to help them. Many people are posting angry comments there and I'm sure the people at Hancock's are sick about it and may be losing customers. They've started a new page. Here is the information on the Hancock's of Paducah website:

I posted about this also. Please do not leave comment or in any way get linked to the site. I removed it from my FB page and so far so good. So sad that FB is not helping with this. And Thank You for the new information!!!!

Amazes me that all of this talent is wasted on hacking. Just think what these people could accomplish if they used their talent for good. I also cannot believe that FB isn't helping - suppose they would for a price, they could become blackmailers to.

What a shame, and how frightening. All the more reason I don't participate in social media... actually, I prefer doing my socializing in person, face to face, not screen to screen. If the perpetrator is trying to blackmail Hancock's, that is patently illegal, and I'm hoping Hancock's has good legal help. They need to bring suit against both the perpetrator and FaceBook, since FaceBook is now complicit in the blackmail (by not removing it, when they very easily could). Shame on them!

I like to socialize face to face too but then I'd be very limited to socializing with fewer people (I have many friends from HS that still live across the country from me, along with friends I've met online) and no quilt shops. So I just try to be very careful online.
