Gorgeous FWS! I love how you did the side borders with pieced scrappy squares on point, what a great addition! Having quilted two of these on my LA I can tell you that custom quilting every block was an ordeal. I felt about brain dead after doing it and it really didn't show that much. There is so much going on with the piecing in the FWS that an all over panto suits it just fine and your choice of the leaves with a soft brown thread is perfect. The second one I did was also custom but I used the same motif in every block so it was more like an all over. FWS is on my bucket list and I am still mulling over how I would want to quilt it.

Stunning. FW is on my bucket list...have the book, trying to decide colors, etc. Did you use MM templates, PP, or how?

What a beautiful quilt! I have the book. Seeing your quilt moved it much closer to the top of my bucket list. Lovely, just absolutely lovely.

Auntjo, it's gorgeous, also the backside! So glad you have it completed.

I still have my FWS top, binding, and backing sitting in a box somewhere (as well as lots and lots of other quilt tops!). DH's health issues have become such that I can only steal brief periods of time downstairs, which is where much of my quilting/cutting, etc. is done. Consequently, I'm spending most of my available 'quilt-y' time doing hand applique @ the dining room table. I'm also able to do pressing, piecing & machine embroidery upstairs and, in winter weather, some hand quilting, but that's been the extent of it been for a good while now; I'm very thankful to have those things to do.
