My quilt top is finished now and I have started quilting on it. I'm doing each round with different quilting. I did the twisted ribbon and the chevrons but now I can't figure out how to quilt them. What quilting did any of you do on those blocks? My camera doesn't play well with my computer and I can't post pics.

For the twisted ribbon I quilted in the ditch around the lighter triangle and medium square next to the dark larger diamond shape retangle. I did not quilt on the diamond shape so the "ribbon" would pop up. Clear as mud? Hope not. I did not use the chevrons.

Here's an idea for quilting a chevron.

just so you know...... lots of people (includes me) read this with great interest, and some ( includes me) with cold feet. Storing up all the interesting ideas, someday may jump right in.

That's a great idea Pam. It really sets off the chevron. Here's a picture of a border I ran across on the web somewhere. I like it's simplicity but can't quite see how it's pieced. Maybe it's an idea for the next time we do a medallion.

Looks to me as if the border is made with half square triangles. I just played with some and see it depends on which way you place them or turn them. Very nice. Give it a try.

I'll bet you're right about the half square triangles AnngelAnne. I also meant to identify the quilt as "Camilla's Random Stars" and you can see other of her quilts at http://web.mit.edu/cfox/www/quilting/index.html. And she said this quilt was inspired by Bonnie Hunter's Random Stars.

Default Finished!

Not sure if anyone still follows this thread, but here is my finished quilt! It is all FMQ'd on my little machine....and I learned a lot! This is a me-quilt, so I was brave and tried some new things...the quilt police would lock me up, but I have to start somewhere, and I am happy with it!
Thanks so much Brat for this quilt along!
