tessagin The manual for the 401A is 96 pages / with all the photos it is 116 pages , mine is in a cabinet it I ugly I will change that think I ill put it in a old table a I have DottieBug

Your machine should use the same black top hat cams that the 500 series and the 600 series Touch & Sews used. It shouldn't be hard to find accessories to fit. If you want them in the correct box it might be a little tougher.

Mine was only 52. Maybe yours was also parts. Mine is in a desk cabinet. Love my cabinet with drawers and original manual. I would still download atleast for future reference.

Rodney, I have the 1thru 5 cams from a touch & sew I trashed a few years ago do you know if their was a straight stitch cam or will it just do that with out a cam . the manual dosn't say . they don't have to be in a box. DottieBug

Dottie,

My former SM mechanic son tells me the 750 (black) top hat cams will work in my 403A, but it can't use the flexi-knit cams -- I bought some off an ebay auction for a pretty low price (don't remember what it was), just that it was low. The Top Hat cams in black are pretty much available on ebay! Good luck with your machine! Oh, I've got to go -- I have to trek 15 miles into town to get my son from his work -- it's time for me to leave now!

Dottie,
The 401 will straight stitch or do any of the other built in stitches without inserting a cam. It only needs cams for the stitches that aren't built in.
