Me, too!! Definitely know the feeling. It doesn't even have to be bedtime, sometimes it's even just time to take a break.

He is so supportive and very understanding, it is just that when it comes time to quit and make dinner I feel "darn it." Of all the crafts and hobbies I've pursued over the years quilting makes me the happiest and I cannot imagine not doing it every day. When it comes time to leave this world I sure hope God will understand when I arrive wrapped in a quilt.
I can relate to this so very much, I'd rather be happily sewing along than to stop and cook dinner for the 2 of us. To me it's wasted time, more dishes to wash than there was different dishes and it's all over within 5 minutes of sitting down. But DH works hard and since I'm unable to work he is entitled to a home cooked meal, but still I'd rather be sewing...who wouldn't be

The hickeys on my forehead from smacking the sewing machine when I nod off kind of tell me it's time to close up shop.

Yes, done that too. I used to quit and go mow the yard or something else physically but not mentally challenging. Now I live in an apartment.

She's a crazy little girl cat.
coopah I live with 3 cats & I swear they plot together ways to get my attention. Sometimes I just have to take a break & pet a cat. It's that or sew their tails into my project!

I quit when I close my eyes and my head hits the sewing machine

Well, I don't usually quilt late at night. I'm happily retired, so I can quilt all day. That said ... I've made that mistake anyway! The answer to the call for dinner is the slow cooker ... plop a chicken in it in the morning, or some meat covered with cream of something soup ... leftovers work well, too.

I saw a mistake in my grandson's baby quilt when I saw a photo of it from the shower!

The second time I have to rip out a seam I put it up for the night. Otherwise, all my work is wasted, when I have to rip it all out the next day!
