Never seen the block before Kassaundra, think I need it in person. As long as it's 12 1/2" square I will use it. To be very honest, the last swap out of 17 I got 6 that were the right size. Made a table topper. Leaving on vacation tomorrow ladies so won't be on the board much until Feb.1, just so you know

Oh, it is the right size, used the 12 1/2 square up ruler on it. Sometimes w/ swaps you have to get creative about fixing the sizes for sure. No you wouldn't have seen the block before unless you visited in my head. lol lol lol It does look better in person then on the screen. It isn't structurally bad, the points are good and the colors work, and the size is spot on, it just wasn't what was in my head.

The best thing Ive done this year is buy a 12" square ruler! What a difference it makes. I haven't been sewing past 3-4 days. developed a rash ALL over went to dr and she thinks Im allergic to Musinex I was taking...then developed a boil or a bite or something and its spreading so am on antibiotics and have to go to the wound clinic on Thur to have it lanced...UGH..terrifying to me since its on my breast....Havent worked all week.lst time in 9 years Ive used a sick day for anything besides drs appts.

I love my squares! Right now the biggest one I have is a 16 1/2 x 16 1/2. I put cans of veggies on it to help hold it in place when I cut so it doesn't wiggle any.
I do know there are some brands that I don't care for at all because of the "fat" paint lines on them...it really can make a difference if you don't use the same "side" of the "fat" paint line cause you can end up 1/16" to 1/8" off on each cut. Seems silly until you add up all of those 1/16" and tada you got a problem at the end of the row.
Jaba have a super vacation and think of us stitching away and we'll think of you lounging with a margarita or two

I love love love my squares I have them from 2.5 to 15.5 just purchased that one for the bento box swap. Since I bought them slowly and on sale while still not cheap well worth it for me. I am currently working on getting the bloc lock rulers for squaring up hst's I love how they hold the block in place Awhile back my LQS had a moving sale so I got 6.5 and the 4.5 for 60% off. now I'm looking for the most common hst's I use on sale too.
Those blocks are cute Jaba's grand baby is going to have an adorable quilt.
