Oh my goodness! You ladies are wonderful! So many good ideas. I love the ribbon idea or the half hexie border and could handle that with my skill level, but I also just found some fabric in my stash that perhaps would work well for the hexie border with a vine attachment (hmm, I've not done much applique though). It seems this quilt has been outside of my comfort zone ~ I tend to want to control all those pieces and match colors. I was going to try to quilt it on my DM but now think that a LAQ would do so much better work. What do you think about using the flowers on this fabric for the hexies flowers or half hexies or even for the ribbon border? Is it too much? The darker shades seem to compliment the dark scrappy prints in the main part. For some reason I'm having a very difficult time making a decision on this one ~

I like the border choice but not for this quilt in my opinion. It is so much like the primary pattern of the quilt that it might just distract from the beauty of the quilt. I agree with some of the others who have suggest a small print border in a complimentary color to just show off your terrific scrappy blocks.

I, too, am very interested in the pattern for that one. I can't figure it out yet by looking at it.

I love the border pattern you've chosen from quilter's cache. I like the woven theme.

A simple girl fix would be pick 2 or 3 pinkish colors..or pink and yellow..any thing bright and light..put a small border of one color..then the next color larger..or small..then large then small..or all small...this would pull the eyes to the bright colors ..

Why not simply scallop a border and trim it off with a yellow binding??

No ideas on the border...I like 'em borderless and would probably finish it just like it is in the pic!
    I totally agree.

How about piano keys using all those fabrics?
