That's costly. This weekend I basted a 68'' by 82'' quilt for a dollar. Yes I got on the Elmer's school glue bandwagon as well. This is the third quilt I've done using Elmer's school glue. It does take a lot longer to baste this way but then again.......I have more time than money.

Have you checked out www.shoppersrule.com ? They have a 5.6 oz can for 12.99 but you can make an offer and get it for less. I bought several cans a while back for a good price, but can't remember what the price was.

Do you water down the Elmers Glue? I may try that. I want to finish my landscape quilt and get another one started.

I changed to Elmer's Washable School Glue some time back. I'm NEVER going back to spray basting. With Elmer's there's no over spray - no odor and it's CHEAP!

I use spray for basting. But also use Elmers particularly for seams and getting points perfectly.

My first can of 505 was from a LQS for that price many years ago. I found other brands that worked just as well but hope to use Elmer's on my next one, especially after the Sullivan's spray stained my white fabric.

I think 505 is under $15 locally for the smaller can. Big can, maybe around 25. I buy when Joanns has 50% the notion wall or I have a good coupon
