    Default Las Vegas

My husband and I are going to Vegas and we will end up having a rental car. Anyone know of any must see quilting shops? Also interested in eating off the strip if anyone has recommendations. Thanks

I have family living in Vegas. When I go to Vegas, I like to go to Jamm's prices aren't bad. It is open for breakfast and lunch. Great Food. Another restaurant lots of seafood and other food
for the person that doesn't like seafood, is Hush Puppy Restaurant on W. Charleston. I had a steak and the best I have had. If you want a German Meal is the Hofbrahaus, they serve German beer. It is a little pricey but the meal is enough for 2.

I was in Henderson, just SE of Las Vegas, and found a shop called Quiltique. It was a very nice store, lots of fabrics, patterns, notions, and helpful staff. If you're going toward Hoover Dam, you might stop by.

Yes Quiltique is fantastic! Really good advice and customer assistance. We went to a breakfast place (in Henderson I think) that was on Triple D. I had the 'featured dish' and it was awesome! I also enjoyed the two outlet malls. Lots of variety and the prices were good. But the highlight of the trip was the two days spent at the Grand Canyon. Did not walk down but did walk most of the rim. Absolutely awesome!!

There is a quilt tour in Vegas - they have several shops in Las Vegas and Henderson. If you go to the website there is a list of the shops they go to.

My niece went to the Hofbrahaus in January and loved it. We went to the Hush Puppy a few years ago and it was very good, especially if you like fried catfish. Our favorite steak place is in the South Point Casino - it is 6 miles south of the MGM Grand. We also like the steak restraunt in Bally's. We went to the 4 Keggs, it was a hang out for Guy Fierri when he was a student at UNLV, and had a great lunch. When we go to Vegas we stay in our time-share so don't eat out as much as we used to. And usually we drive around a bit and see what looks interesting or some place people recommend to us during our trip.

We are going to the Mountain West Basketball Tournament next month. We are really looking forward to it. My DH & DD go to the games and I sew and go to fabric stores and quilt shops. My favorite shop recently closed. But I usually check out their Hancock Fabrics (because we don't have them in San Diego County) and Joann's there is another fabric store, that I don't remember the name right now. One Walmart has fabric, another one does not - or at least it didn't the last time I went, can't remember which is which. I don't go there for fabric as a rule, just if I happen to need something at a Walmart and then just have to check out the fabric area.

Hope you have a great time.

I love the Christmas Goose. Lots of Civil War fabrics and a fun group of ladies run it. Lots of patterns and much more fun to get rid of your money than in the casino.
