I got mine today! Thank you Sheri for all your hard work.

Since this his is my first candy swap - what do you do first? I saw that a couple of people mentioned sorting the candies. How do you sort them? By color?

Id like to start a scrappy postage stamp quilt with my squares.

    Thank you!

I totally forgot about the Candies ..I've been very busy resewing star blocks for a patriotic quilt..

I checked my mailbox last nite and they were there!!! I opened them immediately, didn't take a photo, sorry..so many new & different fabrics, picked out most of the blues, I might start a swoon, might is the magic word right now, I have to see if I can round up some larger squares of blue for the 1/2 triangles it would need...is it possible to get a 2.5" half square from a 2.5" square????

Thanks to you Sheri for continuing to do this swap especially under the circumstance of moving to a new home..If it were me, I'd still be looking for that special box!

Fiestypixy, everyone has their own way of sorting the candies, I'm a controlled scrapper.. I can't randomly pick up 2 pieces of fabric and sew them together... My pieces have to have some sort of contrast..it's only when I get tired or frustrated with them that I'll sew any together..from this swap I'll take several bags and turn them out on a work space close to the machine and pick out two that I think will go together, light & dark then med & dark sometimes a med solid and a med print.. I will chain piece them into 2sies then into 4sies then they sit somewhere in my sewing room until I decide what to do with them..I must have Adult ADHD? cause I have lots of started projects

Anyone else have some suggestions for Fiestypixiy?

Have fun everyone with the new supply of candies...

Fiestypixiy - I would check out Bonnie Hunter's website, Quiltville.com - particularly here:
    http://quiltville.com/scrapusersystem.shtml

    That site is very addictive!!

Mine was only a partial sort - I picked out all the one's that would work for leaf or heart applique. I'm doing the Affairs of the Heart QAL and am trying to do a controlled scrappy medium bright color scheme. My next sort will be by light/medium/dark, probably by color.
