I sincerely hope that you DH will get some good news on his tests and you can go to Paducah. I've never been, but I've heard it's fantastic. What a wonderful DH to take you there every year - he's a keeper.

This will be my first time to visit. I'm going with a group. Last night I went through the AQS vendor list to determine which booths to visit. I have whittled it down a bit. I want to have time to stop at other vender venues while I'm there.

I'll be there only one day. To those of you who have been to Paducah during Quilt Week:

From the comments above, I understand there are shops in Paducah that I could visit at a later date.

Where should I spend my time?

Is there a particular street/area that is best to see first? second?

What venues can be left for another time?

    Thanks!

I hope those attending will report back regarding their experience. It sounds like an awesome event. I will have to add this to my bucket list.

Some vendors rent empty stores downtown and are only there during quilt week. Several vendors are at the rotary building. Dont skip Hancock's of Paducah.

Yes, my DD took me into a famous bakery for some sort of special bread and lo and behold, they had racks of fabric - purchased to sell during Quilt Week. LOL

The last time I was in Paducah they were expecting large floods through Kentucky and had to move the show. Can't remember the date but it was a little unusual because of the move. Some fabulous quilts.

I am going for the day. I am not too far away and can drive it. It will be a long day to & from, DH is going along for the ride and doesn't mind driving and waiting around for me. I thought he might be bored but he likes chatting with people while I browse. Just happy I can go for a day.
Looking forward to spending the day there and what fun stuff they will have. I love Paducah.

Oh and be sure to go downtown, great food and lots to do there as well.

It will be my first trip to Paducah. We are going on a bus trip from Buffalo, NY. It will be my first long bus trip. I am not looking forward to the 10+ hour drive. We are staying in Metropolis, IL. We will be there all day Thursday and Friday. I am hoping it will be worth it, so I am trying it.
