April Fat Quarter Swap - Civil War prints
#61
I have a general question I want to pose to the group: I know, in the past the swap was set for 4 FQ's to save on postage but I notice several people send quite a bit more than that. ((which is very nice)).
So my question is: do you want to send 6 FQ's?
Thoughts???

For me I was happy with sending 5, and I always send a lil extra something, whether it's a fq or a fq and a few charms, or whatever. I don't expect to get anything extra, though
4 seems like not enough, and in terms of postage, I don't notice it's any cheaper to send 4 rather than 5, as it goes in increments of ounces to mail 1st class mail. If it is any cheaper to send 4 instead of 5, it's less than 20-25’ cheaper.
And for those who use flat rate envelopes, a lot more than 5 fqs will fit, so postage isn't even an issue on those.
I'm happy with whatever the group consensus is, though

Kif

Thanks for the input. I plan on posting the same question at the beginning of our next swap to try to catch as many people as possible.
I'm thinking 6 FQ's in our future swaps but haven't decided for sure yet.

Jane it was always 5 FQ's for the swap and not sure why "brat" changed it to 4, you'd have to ask her. I do know I always send an extra one just because I want to but have heard that some feel very intimidated when they see all the extra's and just don't have the funds to do that. Would hate to see ladies not being able to swap because they can't afford the swap. Just an opinion

Jaba,
That's why I said that I send extras but I never expect extras back.
If I was intimidated by what I sometimes receive in my swaps, I'd never sign up to swap!
There are so many people who are much more talented than I am. But that's also the beauty of QB..and swaps...getting to learn new things, make new friends, send and receive wonderful handmade creations, etc.
All I ever saw Brat post regarding her reason for going from 5 fqs to 4 fqs is she was doing that to make postage cheaper.

Kif

THESE ARE MY "UGLIES" THAT ARE NOT SO UGLY (EXCEPT MAYBE 1) FROM SEWELLIE- THANKS FOR SWAPPING WITH ME SEWELLIE. I haven't been on much lately but I didn't have a problem swapping 5 and i don't have a problem swapping 6-I don't see much of a postage difference either way since I will usually send a little extra too. But then I am a fabroholic and have plenty of stash and don't have to go buy for every swap. Although I do enjoy a good excuse to go buy more always!
