Can you show a picture of the table it came in? If you get rid of the table, be sure to keep the cradle that holds the 301, else you may not be able to put it into another table. Nice machine. It is easy to mech and clean and I know you will love sewing on it. I would have snapped it up for $75, even though I have no room for it.

Cricket, This is the table. I've had three of these desks come through and all three had 301's in them. This one is in the worst shape of the three.

I'm already re-finishing a Necchi cabinet. I have removed the cradle and someone wants to put a machine in the table I will be removing the front brackets too.

Of all the machines I have, the 301 is probably my favorite. If I see one at a good price, it's hard to say no. I think black is my favorite color for them though.

Candace did you notify them on the Singer 301 website? I had trouble with the links to report my machine there but have the e-mail to contact the owner if you need it. He said he just changed the numbers and added four more found along with mine. Now out of the 10,000 Limited Edition machines that went out in 1951, 56 are known to still be around. If you haven't reported yours than it will go up to 57. They are very hard to find, but the Centennials with blue badges are the super rares.

Great score!! I have 3 of them and DH knows to buy them if he sees one. I have a sister who wants one. Thinking I might gift her one of mine. My younger DD wants one too when she finally leaves the nest.

I think the Black 301 does come with both the long bed and the short bed. I think the foot control also comes in two versions. two cord for the ones that went in a cabinet and the single split that went with the cased machines.

Yes, I sent him my info. last night so one of those new numbers was mine:> Thanks for posting this, I had no idea about it being special. And since I've sold 3 other 301's without checking the serial #s I'll do that in the future!
