I was just watching a you tube video (Missouri quilting) that used a Bloc loc. There are other "Triangle True up" rulers, but I did not see that they have the "groove" that bloc loc has. I think that would be a "advantage" as the seam then fits snuggle in that grooved area. I am going to get one of the "Bloc Loc" brands

I got the 6.5" one last week, and I love it! I did a whole pile of 4.5" HSTs with it--by the end, the technique was second-nature. I used my rotating mat, and it was ideal--my regular squaring-up ruler is too large to use with the mat.

I personally am not tempted to buy it. I have EB square up...works fine. If I'm doing many hsts, I'll use the GO die hst ( if I have that size)..both methods work for me. Buying any gadget is a personal choice.

Bloc Lock rulers are designed for squaring up blocks - they have a groove for the seam allowance to fit in to, so that you can trim more accurately. I would think of them as a compliment to, rather than a replacement for, Creative Grids.

Love the Bloc lock rulers...I have 2. They help in cutting HST more accurately. I like cutting bigger and cutting to square and these rulers help immensely!
