I've not used a 328k but had a 327k for years. It was my HS graduation gift.

The top hat cams came after the flat cams and was used in more different models. Machines that used the flat cams were made up until the mid 90s at least.

Here is a source for a few of the flat cams: { http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/loo...+fashion+disks }.

The only way to find them is to look, look, look and buy the sets as you find them. Eventually you'll have the complete set of 37 ( I think) different cams.
Familiarize yourself with the models that used the flat cams, then pick up the accessory kits as you find them.

Shopgoodwill, eBay, other retail online sites, these cams are out there.
The flat cams are interchangeable within the machines that use them, so once you get a complete set you can keep them for any machine that needs them.

I had the 327 for a while. I oiled and greased it where appropriate. It is rather an odd machine, for zig zag it has a flat zig zag cam; that's in the machine permanently.
I didn't find it to be a noisy machine. An 11 year old girl is now the proud owner of this machine.

I have a 328K that my husband bought for me for a Christmas gift the first year we were married (1963). It has been used, used, used, but NOT ABUSED. I love the machine, and I still use it. My husband built the cabinet for the machine -- it's been 52 years and I've had no serious problems -- mostly cleaning, tension adjustment -- replaced a foot control once, normal oiling. It does a great job!

I was given a 327 but no instruction mannuel so I went online and ordered one. Just got it so will study it. Plan on leaving it at my church so members do not need to always bring their machines when we do LWR quilts. Hope that is not something I will regret. leaving it at the church ???

welcome to our world. ;-) first its cams, then its a zig zagger, then feet then matching the machine to the oddball cam/foot you might have picked up. lol next thing you know you'll have picked up another machine, then someone has a machine theyre going to throw away then...*gasp* the thread where you proclaim that your thinning your herd but realized theres a free machine that will fit perfectly in to your collection.

Then you pick up a broken machine for free or very cheap because it has some part or accessory you want, and then you realize it's really not THAT broken and you can rescue it with just a couple more parts and some elbow grease...
