I don't care much for doing paper piecing, but that was my first class and first quilt. I remember hearing somewhere that if you have trouble removing the paper, put the block in a plastic zip lock bag and mist it with water. Let it set a few minutes for the paper to pull in the moisture and then it will come right off. Another tip is to set your stitch length lots smaller. Hope this helps. Looks like you are doing fine. What is the name of the red block? Its my favorite! Jan

Your work is looking really good. It gets easier as you go like every other technique. Just a little practice. I love to PP. Can also use up a lot of scraps which is always a good thing. Keep up the good work & have fun!

I do some paper piecing and found that using a retractible glue stick helps me match up parts and gives me far better accuracy than pins. I also took a Craftsy class in PP ( actually a few) and one of the instructors gave a pattern to create a tool that helps locate where you need to intersect parts to create accurate matched angles. I made my own using plexi ( thinner template plastic would likely work and be easier) and a compass that allowed me to scratch a correct seam allowance for the multiple angle and then drilled holes where the lines intersected. Then I used a chalk pen and lined up the dots...some glue and walla!
I know they are also sold on the internet but I am big on making my own tools and saving a buck. I suspect if you creatively google for this tool it will show up or find a template and make your own. I do not use it that often but when you do need it...it saves bunch of time and a lot of frustration.
