    Default Hankie quilt

I need some ideas on how to make a quilt
out of old hankies. Has anyone made one
    of these?

A friend of mine and I made one years ago, but it was a comfort quilt for a little girl so I'm not sure how well it stood up. We sewed the hankie to a white piece of cotton to give it some body. Maybe if you used a soft fusible interfacing it might give your hankie more strength.
We gave it to a grateful little girl and called it a "Hankie Blankie"

I believe there are some pictures of hankies quilts on QB. Use the search box to find them.

Years ago I made a hanky table runner. Can't remember how I did it. Not sure if I still have it either.

I have seen them folded to make butterflies or dresses and appliqued onto blocks...really pretty

I just saw Pat Knoechel (Eleanor Burns sister) at my LQS and she'd made a cute quilt with blocks of baskets. under the baskets she had put half a handkerchief. Very pretty.

can't find the one she showed. had baskets with handles done in a triangle and the hankie below each basket. very cute. new I think.

Look for a book called Hanky Panky. My quilt is a work in progress.
