Great job......good that you tried and did a "not simple squares" type as your first top......wasn't really hard was it? Now nothing will be "too hard to try", or " too scared to try" for you. Congratulations! Ok, what's next.....let's attack curves now!

It looks fine. In no time you will be looking back and seeing how far you've come. I don't know of anyone who started out as an expert.

I like your choice of light prints, they show off the dark triangles well. But , for a first quilt Triangles are very hard to keep from stretching because of the bias sides, so you have to get an A for the way you sailed though it. Good job.

Don't let yourself get discouraged. this is not what I would call a beginner's quilt. Yours is really a good quilt.

Are you aware of pin matching? That's where you pin through the intended seam connection point then pin on either side of that and remove the original pin so it won't distort things. Of course, I can't tell from here, but when I had cut off points like that, a part of the problem was inaccurate seam allowances.
