The first 1st one I'm being selfish and keeping for myself Also the 5th top "trip around the world" I so want. The local quilt shop sent me a 10% off coupon for my sept 11th birthday so I'm going to have the Trip around the world one quilted for me!! MY SS check comes the 17th so It going to be gift to myself with my dear hubby's best wishes. I'm so excited.
95% of the quilts I make I make for the local hospital, and for the hospice I volunteer . Of course I quilt myself but just quilt in the ditch only way I know how to do. The baby quilts I sometime tie. The other 5% is for family and friends.
Would love to have one of these quilted to donate to my grand daughter's school to raffle off. That would help with her fee to attend the school (Its a Catholic School) . They get credit with things they sell and help with.
My charity quilts are either baby size or lap size to twin. These are way to big for the places I donate to. So may try and sell some. That would help buy batting to finish some of the tops I have done already. LOL!! just have to think about it.
Not everyone thinks like a quilter, so in fairness to the family who gave you the quilts, they may want them to be with those who appreciate them and will preserve them. This may have already been mentioned (since I haven't had time to read every page of the thread), and it may seem sacriligious to some here, but you could perhaps consider deconstructing some of the largest tops into the sizes that you usually contribute and finish them off. So many patterns are asymmetrical that it would look as though the pattern was intended. Am I way off with this?? There have been so many good suggestions so far.

They are all lovely quilts and it's a shame no one in the family appreciates the art and craft of quilting. Don't forget to get the sewer's name so you can include it on a label.

Obviously these two women hand pieced for the sheer love of it. I would be devastated if my family just dumped my treasures. These are beautiful - you are blessed.

My Goodness, those tops are all wonderful and you say there were hand pieced? So much love and time has already gone into them. Do you think maybe you could get some donated sheets and maybe older blankets from the Thrift Store to use to finish them? Maybe do just one or 2 a month? They are certainly lovely tops. You have a real windfall there. Congrats.

If you sold one top, perhaps you could receive the money you need to buy batting for two more tops to finish.

I would be thrilled if even one showed up on my doorstep. If you are worried about batting costs, you could pick up second hand flannel sheets to use in place of batting for much less. It makes it a slightly heavier weight quilt, but the drape is wonderful. Just my thoughts....

My heart just broke for the quilter who made these, with a foolish, unappreciative family that does not value them. I pray she never knew her labors were so little thought of. They are wonderful examples of an individual's love of color and designs. How very sad.

I'd come back to haunt my girls if they were ever to behave this way.
