I agree with removing the leaves in the corners..just let the vines come into a graceful curves to points.

Since I want it to be a bed size quilt, I am thinking about third flower border, possibly poppies ?? so, I am far from it being finished.........
for now this is how it will look.
    thanks for looking
The change in the corners look amazing!

I think adding another border of flowers would detract from the quilt and, if this were mine, I would add another checkered border ...darker than the first, same scale and a color taken from one of the morning glories that really pleases you eye? Then a bold color ( maybe even marbleized) for the binding?

I agree with the part about putting a non-appliqued border on next - then if you want to do another round of applique, that might work.

I know that applique is time-consuming - for audtioning, how about laying the top as far as it is on a white sheet, and using cut-outs from colored paper?

it is a needle turn and I love it, I know that doing it by machine would be much faster but for some reason I want it to be hand appliqué

Every time I've seen this "in progress" it makes me smile - so pretty. And, I do like the added white strip.

    Default applique quilt part 4

my second flower border is done. I still do not like the corners. I will let it rest for a while (while we redo the bathroom) and rethink what to do. I might remove all 3 flowers and make the corner vine more rounded...... and then make another checkered border, maybe different color and that will be all, as you can see when the quilt is on the bed......

I will have to take another look at it tomorrow at day light and rethink the corners. not sure if I like the vines come together so close at the corners and 'sleep on it'
thanks for looking and all you comments
