Not a giggle. Just a nice machine that doesn't come up often.

That's one of my other favorite cabinets from Singer. The Queen Anne legs are just classic. The matching bench helps. They're not that easy to find.

EDIT: The 301 in the pictures isn't included. Still it's a nice cabinet and I think if I'm reading it right it includes the cradle.

So need those front "catcher" brackets for the cradle for my 42 cabinet & my 301. Sigh. Anyone know what those brackets are called, or a part number?

I think that's the only cabinet these days that I'd still make room for. As it is, I just set up my second machine in the living room (until then, other than a treadle waiting on some cabinet work, everything was so far corralled in the studio.)

Let me look tomorrow. I have a spare in the studio, I think. At the very least, my cradle should be down there.... somewhere. I'll see if I can see any numbers on it, or look at the parts chart. Hey! Try Brewer's sewing. They have a ton of the parts charts online. Maybe it's on there?

For some people, your email address is more valuable to them than the sale of a machine that may or may not exist. That's why I use a "throwaway" email address now.

Someone's local FB buy/sell/trade had an offer to trade a low end ('80s?) sewing machine for a bottle of tequila. This led to a lot of talk about the good liquor to vintage sewing machine exchange rate.

LOLOLOLOL

Anyone looking for a real challenge? $25 treadle.....
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/atq/5229792542.html

BTW saw this today and the juxtaposition of the two machines and prices really caught my eye

for reference;
The machine on the left is an industrial machine from the later 1800's early 1900's that used a very precise stitch feed mechanism and sews an amazing chainstitch. Would work all day every day, no complaints

The machine on the right is a child's toy machine. the body is actually wood not metal. it is also a chainstitch machine, and it kinda sorta works most of the time.

Well, we all know people will pay way more for toys than tools. Though some of us consider certain tools to be our "toys" and will spend through the roof on them too LOL!! All depends on what a person considers "work" and what is "play".
