Default Can you name this block?

Y'all were so wonderful to respond to the pattern of my other quilt, so I'm asking again. This is the other quilt that my grandmother made at least 50 years ago. I'm getting ready to quilt it and then make my label, but I want to be sure to get the correct name of the block. Thanks in advance.

Can't help with the name, just wanted to say how beautiful it is and how lucky you are to have your grandmothers work, such a treasure. I only have a few small pieces of a crazy quilt my grandmother made, wish I had more.

Can't find it in EQ7. Looks like Goose tracks with a 4 patch in the center.

50 years ago, nothing was wasted. I noticed in the bottom right block, the two blues in the four patch are pieced. Smart grandmother!
no idea on pattern name.

Barbara Brackman's "Enclyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns" had two names for this block
#2540 - page 314 -

Sandhills Star - KC Star 1/18/39
Blooming Cactus - attributed to Nancy Cabot, Nancy's

My mother used to use the expression "what in the Sand Hills"............ Wonder if it has anything to do with the place this block is named for?

Lol actually I think what she was saying (or meant to say) was "What in the Sam Hill".
