I had to push down on both sides on the piece of metal that was stopped by the blick stops. It madr the metal go under the stop blocks and I was able to fully pull the frame out of the cabinet. Once I opened up the top, there was a toggle switch that operates the lift!!! Apparently the button that I kept pushing is the emergency release button in case the the lift is in use and there is a loss of power.

I was so happy to see your blog. I too got that same sewing machine cabinet by Parsons. Unfortunately I paid more for mine. I figured out how to get it out all the way but haven't been able to get the pneumatic control to lower or raise the sewing machine platform. Can you help me by telling me what I need to do?

I also have acquired the same model lift, and also can not figure out how to slide the table and lift out that last inch or so to open the fold over table. Please advise..... Muffy

I have one too, with not a clue how to operate the lift mechanism. Any advice you could share would be so appreciated.
